What to include in a support message

Tell us what you were trying to make and what went wrong. A few details can help us understand the problem, and you usually do not need to send your original photo:

  1. Which tool were you using? Include the page name or URL, such as Grid Overlayor Printable Grid Maker.
  2. What happened? Describe what you selected, what you expected and what happened instead. If a button displayed an error, the exact message is useful.
  3. What device or browser did you use? For example, Safari on an iPhone or Chrome on a laptop. Include the image type (JPG, PNG or WebP) if the problem involved a photo.
  4. Which settings matter? For an alignment issue, mention the canvas dimensions and rows or columns. For printing, mention A4 or US Letter, grid spacing and whether you selected Actual size (100%).

You can include a screenshot if it helps, but please do not email passwords, financial details or sensitive photographs. The drawing tools do not upload your photo to us, so tell us what you see rather than assuming we can view your file.

Photo grid and transparent PNG problems

Tell us if grid lines are missing, a downloaded PNG is not transparent where you expected, an image will not open or square cells look stretched. Include the selected size and whether Square cell lock was enabled.

Printable PDF questions

Let us know if the PDF has missing lines, unexpected margins or the wrong number of squares. If the printed squares seem too large or small, check that your printer is set to Actual size (100%).

If a tutorial step is confusing, an example is inaccurate, keyboard navigation fails or an element is hard to read, please tell us which part of the page is affected.

Quick answers before you write

My downloaded grid does not match my artwork.

Make sure the overlay and the drawing have the same pixel dimensions. The Grid Overlay guide explains square cells, partial rows and placing a transparent PNG above an image.

The squares on printed paper are not the right size.

In your PDF viewer, choose Actual size or 100% rather than Fit to page. Check that the printer is set to the same paper size as the downloaded file. See the Printable Grid Maker instructions for examples.

Where did my previous drawing go?

Grid editing happens in your browser and is not stored in an online account. Download the PNG, JPG or PDF before refreshing or leaving the editor. We cannot retrieve unsaved local editing sessions.
